Job summary

Pep Boys in Spring Hill, FL is seeking a skilled Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and lead a team to elevate customer care. You will educate customers on problems and proposed solutions, while mentoring junior staff and maintaining an organized shop.

The role requires strong diagnostic experience, ASE certs (4+ preferred), and a valid driver’s license with flexible hours including days/nights/holidays. Join a fast-paced service environment at Pep Boys.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years automotive diagnosis, repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4/A5 and two of A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required; State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to non-mechanical individuals, including customers.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians/m mechanics in performing technical activities.
• Maintain an organized shop and keep management aware of repair issues.
• Adhere to all company policies, safety and environmental rules.
