Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and lead a team to improve customer care. You will explain repairs to customers and mentor junior technicians, while staying current with automotive tech through training.

Strong diagnostic skills, ASE certifications, and a valid driver's license are required, with a flexible schedule including days, nights, and weekends. Join a team focused on quality service and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of strong automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or employees.
• Mentor and support fellow technicians to drive customer care and satisfaction.
• Learn new technical information and techniques through formal training.
• Keep management aware of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop and follow safety policies.
