Pep Boys in Largo, FL seeks an automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, and to lead a shop team in delivering excellent customer care. The role emphasizes clear communication, mentoring peers, and staying current with automotive technology.

Candidates should have a strong repair background, ASE certifications, a valid driver’s license, and flexibility to work days, evenings, and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications are preferred (A4 Steering and Suspension & A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, or L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license and ability to work varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications — brake and hydraulic, exhaust, fuel ignition, electrical systems, suspension and alignment, and air conditioning.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and teammates.
• Lead and mentor a shop team to improve customer care and satisfaction.
• Keep knowledge up to date through formal training on evolving automotive technology.
• Maintain an organized, clean shop and adhere to safety and company policies.
