Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an automotive technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and lead a team to improve customer care. The role involves direct customer interaction, explaining repairs, and mentoring peers to ensure quality service.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, 3+ years of diagnostic experience, and ASE certifications. Availability for days, nights, weekends is needed to support shop operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4 Steering & Suspension, A5 Brakes, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake/hydraulic, exhaust, ignition and electrical, suspension and A/C and computer systems.
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers or staff.
• Mentor and lead colleagues to improve customer care and service quality.
• Stay current with automotive technologies through formal training.
• Maintain organized, safe, and compliant shop operations.
• Communicate issues to management and support corrective actions.
