Job summary

The Pep Boys Manny Moe & Jack of California in Fresno, CA seeks an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems while mentoring the team to improve customer care and satisfaction.

Role requires strong diagnostic and repair skills, leadership, and the ability to explain issues and solutions to customers. Valid license and ASE certs are highly preferred, with comprehensive benefits and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 from: A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications – brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and required repairs to customers or staff as needed.
• Continuously learn new technical information in formal training sessions to stay current with automotive technology.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical activities.
• Keep store management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to company policies, safety and environmental rules.
