Job summary

Pep Boys Careers seeks an experienced Technician in Fayetteville, NC to diagnose drivability and electrical issues while guiding a team to deliver excellent customer service. You will interact with customers, explain problems and proposed solutions, and mentor peers to improve shop performance.

The role requires multiple ASE certifications, Section 609 certification, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work varied shifts including weekends. A strong customer-focused mindset is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 3+ years of automotive diagnostic and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4/A5 plus two from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• High motivation, energy and a customer-focused attitude.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check completed.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair brakes, hydraulics, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, AC and computer systems.
• Perform duties of Technician levels below as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and staff clearly.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques in formal training.
• Assist fellow technicians in performing technical tasks.
• Keep management informed of repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company safety and environmental policies.
