Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking an experienced Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems and lead a shop team to improve customer care. The role requires communicating repair needs to customers and mentoring teammates to maintain high service standards.

Candidates should have 3+ years of diagnosis and repair experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and ASE certifications; Section 609 certification and a state inspection license are required or preferred depending on location.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5, plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver’s license and pass background check.
• Willingness to work days, nights, holidays and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive systems to specifications (brake, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition, electrical, suspension, AC, computer systems).
• Explain diagnoses and repairs clearly to customers and colleagues.
• Mentor and lead a shop team to improve customer care and satisfaction.
• Continuously learn new automotive techniques through formal training.
