Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a shop team, and deliver superior service by educating customers on problems and solutions. You will mentor peers, maintain shop organization, and ensure safety and policy compliance while providing memorable customer care.

The role requires 3+ years of automotive repair experience, ASE certifications (preferred), a valid driver's license, and willingness to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years automotive diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 plus 2 from A1/A6/A7/A8/L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications -- brake and hydraulic, exhaust, primary and/or advanced fuel ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, air conditioning and computer systems.
• Perform job duties of all lower job descriptions (Technician B, Mechanic, General Service Technician).
• Explain technical diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and employees as required.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions.
• Assist fellow technicians/mechanics in performing technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical repair problems as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop.
• Adhere to all company policies, procedures, safety and environmental rules.
