Job summary

Pep Boys is seeking a skilled Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, lead a team, and deliver superior customer service. The role emphasizes mentoring, customer education, and collaboration to improve shop performance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years of automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5; plus 2 from A1, A6, A7, A8, L1).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Pre-employment background check required.
• Availability to work days, nights, holidays, and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications for brakes, hydraulic, exhaust, ignition and electrical, suspension and alignment, A/C and computer systems.
• Perform duties of lower technician levels as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers and team members.
• Continuously learn new technical information and techniques through training.
• Assist fellow technicians with technical activities.
• Keep management informed of mechanical issues as they occur.
• Maintain an organized and neat shop; adhere to company safety policies.
