Job summary

Pep Boys in Lakewood, CA is seeking an experienced Automotive Technician to diagnose drivability and electrical systems, mentor teammates, and deliver outstanding customer care. You will communicate repair needs clearly to customers and maintain shop organization.

The role requires commitment to safety, training, and high-quality service. Applicants should have 3+ years of automotive repair experience, ASE certifications, a valid driver's license, and the ability to work varied shifts including

Qualifications

• 3+ years of strong automotive mechanical diagnosis, problem-solving and repair experience.
• 4+ ASE certifications preferred (A4, A5 and two others).
• Section 609 certification required.
• State Inspection license if applicable.
• Must have valid driver's license and pre-employment background check.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair to specifications across brake, hydraulic, exhaust, fuel, electrical, suspension, A/C and computer systems.
• Explain diagnoses and needed repairs to customers in simple terms.
• Lead and mentor team members to deliver excellent customer care.
• Stay current with rapidly changing automotive technology through formal training.
• Maintain an organized, safe shop and adhere to company policies.
