Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Tucson, AZ, seeks an Automation / Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to join our Energy and Resources team.

You will work within an integrated design group, supporting projects across North America in mining, power, oil & gas, and renewables, leading or contributing to automation and control system design. Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, 5–10 years of heavy industry experience, and a PE license or eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited University.
• 5-10 years of engineering, design, and construction experience in heavy industry, mining, oil & gas, power generation.
• A PE license (or ability to become licensed).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to client sites (~10% travel).

Responsibilities

• Engineering support for multidisciplinary projects from proposals through design phases.
• Site work including investigations, scope validation, construction, commissioning and start-up.
• Lead the design and development of I&C drawings and specifications.
• Design PLC/DCS/HMI/SCADA architectures and integration with third-party systems.
• Develop functional specifications, control logic and interlocks.
• Plan and coordinate delivery, reviews, and client meetings.
