Job summary

Amazon in Baltimore, MD seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and performance in fulfillment centers. You will lead controls automation, mentor engineers, and drive improvements across MHE systems, including conveyors and sortation, using PLC/PC controllers and SCADA.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or 4+ years PLC programming/automation experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 4+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in process/production env.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys ladder logic programming.
• 4+ years electrical theory, robotics, and automated equipment experience.
• Master's degree or Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
• Experience leading controls in manufacturing or complex industrial environments.
• Experience maintaining motor controls including VFDs and DC drives.
• Experience interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and provide SME support to minimize downtime of critical assets.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software and safety teams for MHE optimization.
• Maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and analyze performance with maintenance/ops teams.
• Provide escalation support during/after hours to repair hardware/software.
• Move up to 49lbs, stand for shifts up to 12 hours, climb ladders as needed.
