Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC seeks a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will lead cross-functional teams to optimize material handling equipment and drive continuous improvement using conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years of PLC programming or automation engineering experience.
• 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 4+ years of Siemens, Allen-Bradley or Codesys Ladder Logic and structure programming experience.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME on troubleshooting and dive deep for engineering issues to mitigate downtime of critical assets.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, ACES, and Safety to optimize MHE systems and projects.
• Understand, maintain and troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers and industrial networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus) and drives.
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance to address performance issues.
• Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure timely repairs.
• Move up to 49lbs, stand and walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders and perform bending and lifting.
