Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability in fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks, and MHE systems, driving improvements with cross-functional teams.

The role involves working with conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, print and apply systems, and SCADA devices. You will support site technicians, monitor performance metrics, and participate in building assessments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in CS / EE / Automation Eng, or 2+ years PLC programming/automation experience
Flex schedule including weekends, nights, and/or holidays
2+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience
2+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience
2+ years of electrical theory, robotics, controls components, and automated equipment experience
2+ years of Ladder Logic and structured programming from Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs

Responsibilities

Maintain automation systems critical for operations as site expert
Understand, maintain, and troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks
Monitor MHE metrics and address performance issues with maintenance/operations
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians
Perform and analyze building System Assessments to enhance material handling performance
