Job summary

Amazon.com Services LLC is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and operational performance in fulfillment centers. You will provide proactive controls automation, troubleshoot complex systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement of MHE technologies.

You will mentor junior engineers, lead cross-functional teams, and work with conveyors, sortation systems, scanners, and SCADA devices to enhance site throughput.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 4+ years PLC programming/automation experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends/nights/holidays.
• 4+ years of PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience.
• 4+ years of robotics work cells and control systems experience.
• 4+ years of Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys ladder logic programming.

Responsibilities

• Apply SME on troubleshooting and drive actions to eliminate downtime of critical assets.
• Collaborate with Operations, FC Start-up, software teams, and safety to optimize MHE systems.
• Understand and troubleshoot material handling control systems and industrial networks.
• Monitor MHE metrics and partner with maintenance/ops to address performance issues.
• Provide escalation support during and after hours to ensure repair timelines.
• Move up to 49lbs, stand for shifts up to 12 hours, safety on ladders.
