Job summary
Amazon is seeking a Senior Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability in our fulfillment centers, leading proactive controls automation, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of MHE systems such as conveyors and sortation. You will mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to drive site throughput.
You will work with PLC/PC controllers, industrial networks and SCADA, monitor metrics, provide escalation support, and ensure safe operation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in CS/EE/automation or 4+ years PLC/automation experience
- 4+ years PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis experience
- 4+ years robotics work cells and control systems experience
- 4+ years Siemens/Allen-Bradley/Codesys ladder logic programming experience
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot control systems and analyze performance metrics to drive continuous improvement
- Mentor junior engineers and lead cross-functional teams to optimize MHE systems
- Maintain and troubleshoot material handling control systems (PLC/PC, industrial networks)
- Provide escalation support during and after hours to repair hardware or controls software
- Support safety and maintenance teams in project implementation
