Job summary

Amazon is seeking an Automation Engineer to maximize equipment reliability and optimize material handling systems in our fulfillment centers. You will troubleshoot complex control systems, analyze performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement across conveyors, sortation, scanners, cameras, and SCADA devices.

You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams, monitor MHE performance, and provide first-level escalation support.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, automation engineering, or equivalent, or 2+ years of PLC programming or automation experience.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
Experience with PLC-controlled automation and issue diagnosis in production environments.
Experience with robotics work cells and control systems.
Knowledge of ladder logic and programming for Siemens, Allen-Bradley, or Codesys PLCs.

Responsibilities

Maintain automation systems critical for operations.
Troubleshoot material handling control systems and networks (Ethernet, ControlNet, DeviceNet, Profibus).
Monitor MHE metrics and coordinate with maintenance/operations to improve performance.
Provide first-level escalation support for site technicians.
Perform building System Assessments to optimize material handling performance.
