Job summary

Eaton’s Aerospace division in Grand Rapids, MI is seeking a Lead Electrical Sustaining Engineer to drive momentum product improvements and support manufacturing reliability. The role focuses on electrical hardware, motor controllers, and related momentum products within the aerospace portfolio.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering and 5+ years of experience, ITAR compliance, and on-site work at the Grand Rapids facility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum five (5) years of experience in electrical engineering role.
• ITAR compliance and US residency required.
• No relocation benefits beyond 50 miles of Grand Rapids, MI.

Responsibilities

• Drive momentum product improvements through engineering analysis, redesign and testing of electro-mechanical actuators and system hardware.
• Sustain product viability through proactive evaluation and redesign of hardware with obsolete components.
• Develop test plans, specifications and procedures for requalification activities; coordinate testing, evaluate results and prepare test reports.
• Support Launch for New Product Development and Supplier Product Transfer initiatives.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain, Customer Service and HPWT to pursue cost reduction and improve reliability and quality.
• Assist customer service with product inquiries regarding momentum products.
• Interpreting specifications and recommending design improvements based on analysis and field data.
• Support FRACAS system development, tracking and metric generation.
