Job summary

CEVA Freight LLC is seeking an Ocean LCL Gateway Specialist to oversee end-to-end gateway operations for LCL shipments at our Des Plaines facility. Typical hours are 8:00am–4:00pm or 9:00am–5:00pm, with on-site work required to coordinate with internal teams and partners.

You will monitor gateway processes, communicate with lines, warehouses and customs brokers, and use Cargowise for tracking, documentation and workflow management.

Qualifications

• Experience in ocean freight gateway operations, especially LCL shipments.
• Proficiency with Cargowise or similar logistics software.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, basic formulas).
• Strong teamwork and communication across departments and external partners.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
• Flexible to adapt to changing schedules and operational demands.
• Understanding of ocean freight documentation and customs clearance is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage LCL ocean freight gateway processes and ensure timely, accurate handling of shipments.
• Coordinate communication between shipping lines, warehouses, customs brokerage, and internal teams.
• Use Cargowise for shipment tracking, documentation, and workflow management to maintain records.
• Perform data analysis and reporting using Excel to support decisions and improve efficiency.
• Coordinate and resolve shipment exceptions while maintaining high customer service levels.
• Collaborate with team to align goals and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and international shipping standards.
