Job summary

CEVA Logistics is seeking an Ocean Export LCL Supervisor in Des Plaines, IL to lead day-to-day export operations and manage both on-site and remote team members. You will ensure operational excellence, maintain customer and carrier relationships, and drive continuous process improvements across a fast-paced global network.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, or a related field and at least four years in logistics with Ocean Export experience, including LCL

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Transportation, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum of four (4) years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or international transportation.
• Previous supervisory or team lead experience within a freight forwarding or logistics environment preferred.
• Minimum three (3) years of hands-on Ocean Export experience, including extensive knowledge of LCL operations strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily Ocean Export LCL operations, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of bookings, routing, documentation, and cargo consolidations.
• Supervise, coach, mentor, and develop a team of export agents by providing ongoing training, performance feedback, and career development opportunities.
• Manage customer escalations with urgency and professionalism, ensuring timely resolution, service recovery, and a positive customer experience.
• Collaborate with ocean carriers, Container Freight Stations (CFS), and CEVA's global network to optimize service performance, capacity, and cost efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable international trade regulations, CEVA SOPs, and customer-specific requirements.
• Identify operational inefficiencies and implement process improvements that enhance accuracy, productivity, service quality, and overall workflow stability.
• Monitor KPIs, operational metrics, and shipment volumes, providing regular reporting and actionable insights to leadership.
• Support financial performance by ensuring billing accuracy, monitoring costs, improving file profitability, and maintaining operational controls.
• Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture that promotes accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
