Job summary

nLIGHT, located in Camas, WA, seeks a Service Technician to repair, test and calibrate laser systems and components. The role includes moving equipment, lifting up to 50 lbs, and up to 80% travel for onsite customer support in diverse environments.

You will work with Technical Support, Customer Service, Manufacturing and Design Engineers to diagnose issues, document activities and drive process improvements while prioritizing safety.

Qualifications

• 1+ years in a high-volume production environment with electronics or opto‑mechanical assemblies
• AA degree in a technical field preferred
• Experience servicing electronics, semiconductor equipment or optomechanical assemblies
• Able to read basic electrical schematics
• Proficient with oscilloscope, curve tracer and DVM
• Knowledge of electrical power and safety
• Proficient with Excel and Word
• Ability to wear Safety Laser Goggles
• Good communication and organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair laser systems and components
• Document repair activities in detail
• Write failure analysis reports
• Track and analyze repair data to identify improvements and failure modes
• Provide feedback to Technical Support, Customer Service and Engineering
• Manage returns in and out of the repair center; track wait/repair/turnaround times
• Demonstrate safety of yourself and others
