Advocate Health's Language Services department in Winston-Salem seeks a senior leader to oversee Language Access and Interpreting Services across the Wake area. You will staff interpreters, monitor utilization, and guide complex case interpretation to ensure high-quality communication for patients with limited English proficiency.

You will collaborate with hospital departments to maintain patient flow and ensure compliance with ethical standards and regulations in healthcare interpreting.

Qualificações

• Typically requires 5 years of experience in a medical environment performing medical verbal and written interpretation and translation, leading and prioritizing staff work, and acting as a resource to staff on complex cases.
• Certification: Medical Interpreter (CMI) within 1 year.

Responsabilidades

• Maintains proper staffing of Medical Interpreter caregivers and sets productivity, quality and patient experience standards.
• Monitors utilization of interpreter services and directs staff and agency interpreters as needed.
• Provides expertise in complex cases involving end-of-life issues, difficult family situations, domestic violence, and problem-solving for interpretation.
• Maintains direct communication with medical interpreter leadership, dispatchers, and hospital departments to optimize patient flow and care.
• Identifies interdepartmental issues, investigates complaints, and suggests timely changes.
• Establishes in-service programs for interpreters and clinical staff working with interpreters.
• Provides medical interpreting services for patients as needed.
• Adheres to laws and regulations governing medical interpretation in healthcare.
• Performs HR duties including coaching, performance reviews, hiring decisions, and promotions.
