Job summary

BrightView Landscapes in Carlsbad, CA seeks a Landscape Maintenance Installation Business Developer to drive growth by securing contracts for landscape construction and installation projects. This role blends sales expertise with industry knowledge and relationship management to expand the client base and profitability.

You will build pipelines, craft proposals, negotiate contracts, and ensure a smooth transition to maintenance teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, horticulture, landscape architecture, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• 3–5 years of proven success in B2B sales, preferably in landscaping, construction, or related industries.
• Knowledge of landscape maintenance and installation practices, horticulture, and project management fundamentals.
• Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently.
• Proficiency with CRM tools, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting.

Responsibilities

• Generate new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals, and cold outreach.
• Build and maintain a healthy pipeline of opportunities for installation projects outside the Maintenance book of business.
• Develop customized proposals and sales presentations addressing client needs and company value.
• Negotiate and close contracts in alignment with pricing standards and profitability goals.
• Build strong, long-term relationships with property managers, developers, GCs, and decision-makers.
• Transition final installation to a long-term Maintenance Partner and serve as primary contact during the sales cycle.
• Collaborate with estimating, operations, and project management to ensure accurate proposals and service delivery.
• Review large scale ($1M+) jobs with senior leadership and coordinate with branch leadership on opportunities up to $1M.
