Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform inspections, manage loading and spreading tasks, and maintain equipment to ensure efficient, safe operations.

Responsibilities include pre/post inspections, operating equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader, monitoring waste, completing reports, and adhering to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Two years of heavy equipment operation experience.
• One year of OSHA-regulated site experience.
• Strong customer service and professional conduct.
• Good time management and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness.
• Perform minor service and report repairs to maintenance shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports.
• Follow safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized after each shift.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
