Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate at recycling centers, landfills, or transfer stations, including loading, spreading, and compacting waste or soil. Responsibilities include inspections, reporting, and maintaining equipment and the work area to minimize downtime.

The role requires two years of heavy equipment experience and OSHA-site familiarity, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and teamwork within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Ability to follow safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer and loader.
• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections per policy.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs.
• Maintain clean, serviced shop and equipment.
• Adhere to safety standards and job-related policies.
• Assist with minor service on equipment; escalate major issues.
