Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate and maintain heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. You will perform inspections, monitor waste material, and ensure equipment is ready for use while following all safety policies and procedures.

The role includes documenting equipment conditions, performing minor maintenance, and coordinating with maintenance for larger repairs.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment readiness to minimize downtime.
• Perform minor service on equipment and report repairs as needed.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and report necessary repairs to supervisor.
