Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, front-end loaders and related machinery at recycling centers, landfills or transfer stations. You will perform inspections, monitor waste for unacceptable material, and keep equipment ready for service.

This role emphasizes strict safety adherence, timely reporting, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.
• Good customer services skills to meet and exceed customer expectations.
• Good time management skills to ensure responsibilities are completed safely and efficiently.
• Ability to adhere to company safety standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of heavy equipment to ensure it is operational and safe.
• Safely operate equipment including forklift, excavator, bulldozer, front-end loader and other equipment following safety standards.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable material and keep equipment in working condition.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and related documentation; report needed repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain a clean and organized shop and work area at shift end.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
