Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy machinery at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. You will perform inspections, monitor waste quality, and ensure equipment readiness while following all safety protocols.

The role requires past heavy equipment experience and adherence to OSHA regulations. Candidates should be reliable, safety-minded, and capable of working in a team environment to support efficient waste handling operations.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience at sites regulated by OSHA preferred.
• Demonstrates strong safety conscious behavior and professional conduct.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspections of equipment per policy.
• Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and maintain equipment readiness.
• Conduct minor equipment service and refer major issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Prepare Equipment Condition Reports and report repairs to supervisor.
• Adhere to all safety policies and keep the shop clean and organized.
