Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator – Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill or transfer station. The role includes pre- and post-operation inspections, operating machines like forklifts, excavators, bulldozers, and loaders, monitoring waste quality, and ensuring equipment readiness to minimize downtime.

Responsibilities also include completing reports, following safety policies, keeping the shop clean, and performing minor servicing as needed.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• Experience working at sites regulated by OSHA is required.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of equipment.
• Safely operate equipment such as forklift, excavator, bulldozer, and front-end loader.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials and ensure equipment is ready to minimize downtime.
• Complete Equipment Condition Report and report repairs to supervisor.
• Maintain clean and organized shop and equipment at end of shift.
