Job summary

Republic Services is seeking an Operator - Heavy Equipment to safely operate heavy equipment at a recycling center, landfill, or transfer station. The role includes pre/post inspections, loading and spreading waste, and maintaining safety standards on site.

The position emphasizes timely, compliant operation with a focus on safety, reporting, and daily equipment maintenance in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• Two years of prior related experience in heavy equipment operation.
• One year of prior experience working at sites regulated by OSHA.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre- and post-operation inspection of the equipment and operate safely.
• Monitor waste for unacceptable materials.
• Monitor equipment condition to minimize downtime and clean as needed.
• Perform and document minor service; refer complex issues to Maintenance Shop.
• Complete Equipment Condition Reports and other required reports; report repairs as needed.
• Follow all safety policies and procedures.
• Keep the shop clean, serviced, and stored after each shift.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
