Job summary

Patient First is seeking a Lab Technologist/Technician to oversee laboratory activities and assist clinical teams. The role involves monitoring analyses, ensuring corrective actions, and maintaining proficiency testing while supporting physicians and nurses with patient care.

The position requires supervisory experience, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced lab environment.

Qualifications

• Employee must be 18 years of age or older.
• Minimum typing experience required.
• At least one year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Must have High School diploma or equivalent and meet degree/ certification requirements based on the state location.
• Must understand Medical Technology principles and be able to perform a broad range of testing.

Responsibilities

• Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations to maintain analytic performance and report issues to Technical Consultant.
• Take remedial actions when test systems deviate from specifications and report problems.
• Ensure proficiency testing is performed within the required timeframe.
• Assist Physicians, Extenders, and Nurses with patient treatment and care.
• Supervise lab personnel to ensure quality, adherence to policies, and safe operation of equipment.
• Ensure patient test results are reported only when systems function properly and report problems.
