Job summary

Community Health Systems is seeking a Supervisor, Lab to coordinate laboratory operations, supervise staffing, scheduling, training, and quality control, while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost-aware management. The role requires leadership and technical expertise to support patient care and process improvements.

The position emphasizes collaboration with laboratory administration, nursing, and physicians, plus ensuring safe, compliant and efficient lab services in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or Physical Science and must meet applicable CLIA personnel qualification requirements for high-complexity testing.
• 1-2 years of related experience in the profession required.
• 1-2 years of leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily laboratory operations, staffing, scheduling, and supply inventory.
• Ensure timely, accurate test results in compliance with CAP/CLIA and accreditation standards.
• Lead QC, proficiency testing, corrective actions, and staff coaching.
• Monitor equipment maintenance and collaborate with leadership to improve processes.
• Contribute to departmental budgeting and cost-effective reagent selection.
