Job summary

Dow Inc. in Orange, Texas, is seeking an Analytical Technician to support Sabine River Operations by performing laboratory analyses and evaluating results to support quality product release.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, experience with GC/LC, calibration, data evaluation, and a commitment to EH&S and ODMS protocols. This role requires a 12-hour rotating shift including nights, weekends, and holidays, with potential overtime.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree or military experience at US E5 or Canadian equivalent preferred.
• 5+ years in chemical laboratory setting.
• Associate's degree or 3+ years of military experience in a specialty field.
• Must be able to work a 12-hour rotating shift including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses including Melt Index, IR, GC, LC, Titration, Film Extrusion.
• Prepare standards including internal, calibration, and check standards.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance of instruments.
• Evaluate validity of data, applying basic statistics, and interpreting results.
• Monitor analytical systems to identify potential problems and troubleshoot; escalate as needed.
• Document, communicate and archive analytical results and calibration data.
• Follow EH&S and ODMS procedures for work tasks.
• Suggest improvements to lab work processes and tools.
• Escalate non-routine requests to appropriate team member for follow-up.
