Job summary

Dow Analytical Technician in Orange, Texas, supports manufacturing operations through laboratory analyses and data evaluation to ensure quality product release. The role covers sample prep, calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of lab instrumentation within Sabine River Operations.

The successful candidate will join a technical team, performing routine analyses (GC/LC/IR), maintaining calibration standards, and documenting results while adhering to EH&S and ODMS procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum: bachelor’s degree or relevant military experience at or above U.S. E5 or Canadian Petty Officer 2nd Class or Sergeant.
• 5+ years in chemical laboratory setting.
• Associate's degree or 3+ years of military experience in a specialty field.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses including Melt Index, IR, GC, LC, Titration, Film Extrusion.
• Prepare standards including internal standards, calibration standards, & check standards.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance of instruments.
• Evaluate validity of data, applying basic statistics, and interpreting results.
• Monitoring analytical systems to identify potential problems and conducting first-line troubleshooting escalating as appropriate.
• Document, communicate and archives analytical results and calibration data.
• Follow Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and ODMS procedures and practices for work tasks.
• Suggest improvements to lab work processes and tools.
• Escalate non-routine requests to appropriate team member for follow-up.
