Job summary

Dow is seeking an Analytical Technician in Orange, Texas, within Sabine River Operations (SRO). You will support manufacturing operations through laboratory analyses, sample preparation, calibration, and data evaluation to ensure quality product release.

The ideal candidate possesses broad technical skills in analytical methods and can perform a wide variety of lab activities, including instrument maintenance and data interpretation.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required, with bachelor's degree or military experience an alternative.
• 5+ years in a chemical laboratory setting.
• Experience with LIMS or other laboratory management systems preferred.
• Experience with Gas Chromatography, Liquid Chromatography or Gel Characterization preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine analyses including Melt Index, IR, GC, LC, Titration, Film Extrusion.
• Prepare standards including internal standards, calibration standards, & check standards.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance of instruments.
• Evaluate validity of data, applying basic statistics, and interpreting results.
• Monitoring analytical systems to identify potential problems and conducting first-line troubleshooting escalating as appropriate.
• Document, communicate and archives analytical results and calibration data.
• Follow Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) and ODMS procedures and practices for work tasks.
• Suggest improvements to lab work processes and tools.
• Escalate non-routine requests to appropriate team member for follow-up.
