Job description

A law firm is seeking a talented and dedicated Labor & Employment Associate to join its Orange County office. This role is ideal for an attorney with 2-6 years of experience in labor and employment law. The firm offers a collaborative, supportive environment with opportunities to work on a diverse range of clients across various industries. The position provides exposure to complex legal matters, including wage and hour compliance, discrimination, harassment, and more, focusing on both individual and class action cases. A hybrid work schedule with in-office and remote options is available.

Duties:
  1. Represent employers in labor and employment matters, such as wage and hour disputes, discrimination, harassment, retaliation claims, and employee accommodations.
  2. Manage both individual and class action cases, including PAGA claims, with a focus on dispute resolution and legal compliance.
  3. Provide legal counsel on employment agreements, workplace policies, and related issues.
  4. Conduct legal research and draft legal documents like motions, briefs, and correspondence.
  5. Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and collaborate with clients to develop case strategies.
  6. Work with colleagues and clients to ensure efficient case management and resolution.
Requirements:
  • 2-6 years of experience in labor and employment law, especially in wage and hour class actions and PAGA claims.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build client and colleague relationships.
  • Excellent writing, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
  • Proactive case management and ownership mindset.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.
Education:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
  • Active membership in the State Bar of California.
Skills:
  • Deep knowledge of California labor and employment law, including wage and hour, discrimination, and accommodations.
  • Experience with class actions and PAGA claims.
  • Strong research, drafting, and communication skills.
  • Effective client management skills and practical legal solutions.
  • Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.
  • Flexible work schedule supporting remote work.
