A law firm seeks a skilled Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with at least 4 years of experience in labor and employment law, specializing in wage and hour, PAGA, and class action litigation. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing abilities, a strong background in employment law matters, and the ability to handle complex legal issues. The role is based in Irvine, California, with a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work both remotely and in the office.
Duties:
- Legal Representation:
- Manage a variety of labor and employment matters, focusing on wage and hour claims, PAGA cases, and class action lawsuits.
- Provide legal counsel to clients, advising on compliance, employment policies, and workplace issues.
- Represent clients in litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
- Participate in settlement negotiations and assist with mediation and arbitration proceedings.
- Case Management:
- Oversee case strategy, including the development of legal arguments and tactics.
- Perform detailed legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
- Prepare discovery, manage depositions, and handle all pre-trial processes.
- Client Interaction:
- Interface directly with clients to understand their needs and provide legal guidance.
- Draft and present detailed legal reports, summaries, and opinions for clients.
- Work alongside senior attorneys and other members of the legal team to manage cases efficiently.
- Contribute to the development and execution of case strategy, ensuring the best outcomes for clients.
- Collaborate with colleagues to stay updated on new regulations, legal trends, and litigation tactics.
Requirements:
- Experience:
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in labor and employment law, with specific expertise in wage and hour matters, PAGA, and class actions.
- Proven track record in managing cases from inception through settlement or trial.
- Strong experience in litigation and discovery processes, as well as motion practice.
- Skills:
- Exceptional legal writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive documents.
- Strong research and analytical abilities to address complex legal issues.
- Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, capable of interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
- Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
- Qualifications:
- Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
