Job description

A law firm seeks a skilled Labor & Employment Associate Attorney with at least 4 years of experience in labor and employment law, specializing in wage and hour, PAGA, and class action litigation. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing abilities, a strong background in employment law matters, and the ability to handle complex legal issues. The role is based in Irvine, California, with a hybrid work model, offering flexibility to work both remotely and in the office.

Duties:
  1. Legal Representation:
    • Manage a variety of labor and employment matters, focusing on wage and hour claims, PAGA cases, and class action lawsuits.
    • Provide legal counsel to clients, advising on compliance, employment policies, and workplace issues.
    • Represent clients in litigation, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
    • Participate in settlement negotiations and assist with mediation and arbitration proceedings.
  2. Case Management:
    • Oversee case strategy, including the development of legal arguments and tactics.
    • Perform detailed legal research and analysis to support case preparation.
    • Prepare discovery, manage depositions, and handle all pre-trial processes.
  3. Client Interaction:
    • Interface directly with clients to understand their needs and provide legal guidance.
    • Draft and present detailed legal reports, summaries, and opinions for clients.
  4. Work alongside senior attorneys and other members of the legal team to manage cases efficiently.
  5. Contribute to the development and execution of case strategy, ensuring the best outcomes for clients.
  6. Collaborate with colleagues to stay updated on new regulations, legal trends, and litigation tactics.
Requirements:
  1. Experience:
    • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in labor and employment law, with specific expertise in wage and hour matters, PAGA, and class actions.
    • Proven track record in managing cases from inception through settlement or trial.
    • Strong experience in litigation and discovery processes, as well as motion practice.
  2. Skills:
    • Exceptional legal writing skills, with the ability to draft clear, concise, and persuasive documents.
    • Strong research and analytical abilities to address complex legal issues.
    • Effective communicator, both verbally and in writing, capable of interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and internal team members.
    • Ability to handle multiple cases simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.
  3. Qualifications:
    • Must be licensed to practice law in California and in good standing with the State Bar.
Education:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
