Job summary

TriCore Reference Laboratories is seeking a Laboratory Scientist at Heart Hospital of New Mexico to join a busy clinical team. Under general supervision, you will perform waived to high complexity laboratory tests, maintain equipment, and ensure quality control in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science from an accredited institution.
• An associate degree in laboratory science or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution may qualify when combined with suitable experience.
• Education and training equivalent to an associate degree that includes required science coursework.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests.
• Maintains, troubleshoots and repairs laboratory equipment.
• Performs quality control testing to ensure equipment functionality prior to patient testing.
• Participates in POCT oversight and staff training as needed.
• Assists with regulatory inspections and inventory management.
