Job summary

TriCore, New Mexico’s largest laboratory, is seeking a Laboratory Scientist for PRN roles at Lovelace Women’s Hospital. The position performs waived to high-complexity tests, maintains equipment, and participates in QA/QC and regulatory processes.

The role supports various site needs and can involve training new staff. Ideal candidates have CLIA experience or education, are able to troubleshoot, and communicate results effectively to supervisors and clinicians.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science from an accredited institution.
• Associate’s degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry) or medical laboratory technology from an accredited institution.
• Education and training equivalent to an associate degree that includes prescribed science hours.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests.
• Operates laboratory equipment and interfaces with instruments.
• Maintains QA/QC documentation and logs QA data.
• Takes part in regulatory inspections and compliance.
• Collects specimens and prepares for analysis.
