Job summary

TriCore is New Mexico’s largest laboratory, seeking Laboratory Scientists at Rust Hospital. The role involves performing waived to high complexity tests, maintaining instruments, and ensuring quality control prior to patient testing.

Eligible candidates can be LS I–IV depending on education and experience, with opportunities for training and professional growth. The position is hourly, on-site, with comprehensive benefits including health coverage, a 401(k) plan with matching, PTO and paid

Qualifications

• CLIA-based qualification paths for LS I–IV with education and training requirements described in the ad.
• Multiple degree options accepted per CLIA and site requirements.
• Certification preferences for higher placements (LS IV).

Responsibilities

• Perform waived, moderate or high complexity laboratory tests for diagnosis and treatment.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment; run QC/QA procedures.
• Document results and communicate abnormal findings to supervisors.
• Assist with training of new staff and students.
• Participate in POCT oversight and QA activities.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in biological, or chemical science

Associate’s degree in laboratory science (biology or chemistry) or medical laboratory technology

60 semester hours including chemistry and biology requirements

ASCP/AMT type certification preferred for LS IV
