Colonial Group in Ohio seeks a Laboratory Operations Supervisor to oversee the operation of the hospital-based laboratory at Miamisburg, Beavercreek, and Jamestown locations. The role includes managing bench staff, ensuring timely and accurate test results, and maintaining regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science (MLT/MT).
• ASCP registration preferred.
• 1–3 years of progressive medical laboratory experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision to technical and lab staff aligned with company vision, ensuring clear communication regarding assignments, workflow, and responsibilities.
• Assist with staff scheduling, bench assignments, and rotation of duties to maintain competency; weekend/holiday coverage as required.
• Assist with quality assurance activities, continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining CAP inspection readiness.
• Support staff selection, evaluation, development, and mentoring; prepare timely corrective actions when necessary.
• Ensure completion of required documentation (timecards, reviews, training records, root cause analyses).
• Assist with departmental compliance to regulatory and company standards.
• Support lab problem-solving and follow-up with providers as needed.
• Update and control laboratory policies and documents in line with document control processes.
• Teach medical laboratory science students and staff, oversee professional development and competency.
• Promote departmental safety and health policies and a culture of safety.
• Develop professional relationships and provide courteous, efficient service to employees and customers.
