Qualifications

• General science emphasis; or 1–3 months related Experience or training.
• Data entry skills; organizational skills and ability to work under stressful conditions; capacity to work in a high risk department with equanimity, precision and attention to detail; good communication skills, to include effective speech delivery and telephone skills.
• Three years in a high volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift activities: schedule staff, assign duties, and ensure coverage.
• Monitor workflow; verify collection and receipt of specimens; adjust workload to balance labor.
• Maintain competency and training of Laboratory Assistants; orientation, monitoring, and competency checks; lead in absence of manager.
• Maintain procedure manual; document incidents; track variance; pursue continuous improvement.
