Qualifications

• Data entry skills; organizational skills and ability to work under stressful conditions; capacity to work in a high risk department with accuracy and attention to detail.
• Three years in a high volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift activities: schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage and adjust staffing based on workload.
• Assign duties, reassign tasks as needed, supervise staff, and provide input on performance for annual appraisals.
• Act as liaison between lab assistants and technologists to ensure efficient workflow.
• Serve as a resource on policy/procedure questions and equipment troubleshooting.
• Document all activities as appropriate.
• Monitor workflow using online systems; verify specimen collection/receipt and balance workload.
• Maintain staff competency: training, orientation, and annual competency checks; lead area in absence of manager.
• Maintain procedure manuals, document incidents, track variance, and support continuous improvement.
