Qualifications

• General science emphasis; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of experience.
• Data entry skills; organizational skills and ability to work under stressful conditions; requires the capacity to work in a high risk department in an environment with equanimity, precision and attention to detail; good communication skills, to include effective speech delivery and telephone skills.
• Three years in a high volume environment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate shift activities and schedule staff to ensure adequate coverage.
• Supervise lab assistants, provide input on performance.
• Act as liaison between lab assistants and technologists to ensure efficient workflow.
• Train staff and conduct competency checks; maintain procedures and documentation.
• Document all activities and support continuous improvement.
