Job summary

Sartorius North America is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, maintain, and repair laboratory balances and moisture analyzers across Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa. You will cover the Midwest territory and travel extensively to customer sites, delivering exceptional service and detailed reporting.

The role requires at least 2 years of field service experience, an technical associate degree or equivalent certification, and strong mechanical/electrical diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of field service, maintenance, instrumentation, or related technical experience.
  • Experience calibrating balances, scales, moisture analyzers, or similar laboratory instruments preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain technical equipment.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a field-based environment.
  • Proficiency with mobile applications, digital reporting tools, and Microsoft Office products.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively throughout the assigned territory.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver exceptional service and technical support during on-site visits.
  • Perform installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of balances and moisture analyzers.
  • Diagnose equipment issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and records.
  • Manage workload and service schedule to ensure on-time customer support.
  • Utilize field service automation tools and systems for daily operations.
  • Follow service procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and share best practices.
  • Provide customers with technical guidance, product recommendations, and service insights.
  • Build lasting customer relationships that drive satisfaction and growth.
