Job summary

Sartorius North America is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, maintain, and repair laboratory instruments across the Midwest. The role covers Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, and Iowa, with ideal residency in Kansas City.

You will build strong customer relationships during on-site visits and remote coordination. The position emphasizes troubleshooting, calibration expertise, and professional collaboration in a dynamic, field-based environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a technical field or HS Diploma with relevant technical certification.
• Minimum 2 years of field service, maintenance, instrumentation, or related technical experience.
• Experience calibrating balances, scales, moisture analyzers, or similar laboratory instruments.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain technical equipment.
• Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
• Effective communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a field-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver on-site service and technical support during customer visits.
• Install, calibrate, perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repair lab instruments.
• Diagnose equipment issues and provide timely solutions to minimize downtime.
• Maintain service documentation, reports, and records.
• Manage workload and service schedules to ensure on-time support.
• Utilize field service automation tools and systems to support operations.
• Follow Sartorius procedures, quality standards, and safety protocols.
• Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and share best practices.
• Provide customers with technical guidance and product recommendations.
• Build lasting customer relationships that drive satisfaction and growth.
