Sartorius is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, calibrate, maintain and repair laboratory balances and moisture analyzers across the Midwest region. The role emphasizes customer service and on-site technical leadership to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.

The ideal candidate has a technical associate degree or equivalent certification, 2+ years in field service, and strong diagnostic skills.

Qualifications

Associate degree or technical certification as a minimum.
Minimum 2 years of field service, maintenance, instrumentation, or related technical experience.
Experience calibrating balances, scales, moisture analyzers, or similar lab instruments.
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain technical equipment.
Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills.
Effective communication and customer service skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a field-based environment.
Proficiency with mobile applications, digital reporting tools, and Microsoft Office products.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively within the territory.

Responsibilities

Deliver on-site installation, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of balances and moisture analyzers.
Provide technical support and guidance during customer visits to maximize uptime.
Diagnose equipment issues and implement effective solutions.
Maintain service documentation, reports and records.
Manage workload and service schedule to ensure timely customer support.
Utilize field service software and reporting tools for daily operations.
Follow Sartorius service procedures, safety and quality standards.
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve complex issues and share best practices.
Build lasting customer relationships to drive satisfaction and growth.
Travel across the assigned Midwest territory as required.
