Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Make and supply media buffers and water to research areas as needed.
  • Assist in organizing and setup lab supplies and equipment for individual researchers.
  • Assist with inventory and record of supplies.
  • Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate data as needed.

SummaryUnder direct supervision, provide basic support to laboratory functions including maintenance, operation and inventory of equipment and supplies. Support research investigators as needed.Primary ResponsibilitiesProvide clean and sterilized glassware for use in research lab.Operate and maintain a variety of basic lab equipment such as autoclaving.Make and supply media buffers and water to research areas as needed.Assist in organizing and setup lab supplies and equipment for individual research investigators.Assist with inventory and record of supplies.Participate in meetings with principle investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed.Other duties as assigned.Knowledge – Skills – AbilitiesKnowledge of biology, chemistry, mathematics, documentation, and records management.Data utilization, complex problem solving, critical thinking, resource management, and writing skills.QualificationsAppropriate experience may be substituted for education an on equivalent basis.Minimum Required Education: Less than high schoolMinimum Required Experience: No experience requiredPhysical RequirementsWork requires infrequent physical effort such as walking or retrieving materials.Work EnvironmentOccasional exposure to dust, noise, temperature changes, or contact with water or other liquids.
