Job summary

Opaa! is seeking staff to prepare breakfast and lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and participate in catering functions. You will assist in food prep, batch cooking, and maintain clean, organized kitchen areas in a fast-paced school dining environment.

Responsibilities include operating equipment with proper certification, handling invoices and meals, and ensuring accurate temperatures and portions while providing friendly, customer-focused service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED, preferred; or up to one-month related experience, training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Language Skills: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the set-up of serving lines daily and ensure food is held at proper temperatures.
• Assist in preparation of foods per menu and Opaa! recipes; plan ahead.
• Operate slicers, mixers, grinders, and other equipment with proper certification.
• Keep work areas neat, clean, and organized; maintain FIFO stock.
• Serve items with correct portions and hospitality; keep lines supplied.
