Job summary

Opaa! Food Management is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to prepare breakfast and lunch offerings, assist with serving lines, and support occasional catering functions. You will perform all kitchen duties, maintain safety and quality, and help with inventory and plating in a school cafeteria setting.

The role emphasizes following Opaa! recipes, operating standard kitchen equipment, and providing friendly service to students and staff in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided on-site.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred; or up to one month of related experience.
• Basic reading/writing and numeracy required.
• Ability to follow recipes and food handling procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist with set-up of serving lines and maintain proper food temperatures.
• Prepare foods according to menu and Opaa! recipes; plan ahead for next day.
• Operate kitchen equipment with proper certification.
• Maintain clean, organized work areas and dishwashing station.
• Follow FIFO for inventory and manage stock in cooler/storage.
• Assist with cash handling and POS when serving customers.
